Legionella testing laboratory legionnaire's testing in drinking water

Legionella Testing

Legionella bacteria are a well-established threat to safe drinking water systems, especially to those used by at-risk individuals. Legionella bacteria multiply within the single-cell organisms in water. When Legionella is aerosolized and inhaled, it can lead to infection. Legionellosis can result in Pontiac Fever and potentially-fatal Legionnaire’s disease. Individuals with a compromised immune systems are particularly susceptible to the disease. Information about Legionella in water, Legionnaire’s, and legionellosis is provided by the World Health Organization (WHO).
