December 26, 2013
In 2012, Criterion was contracted to conduct air quality Air Monitoring Services in several patient care areas to validate existence of various urine odors noted during recent VA Office of Inspector General visit. Criterion’s experienced Industrial Hygienist performed on-site monitoring of conditions during air quality sampling utilizing Summa Canisters and personal badges for collection of samples in various locations determined by the Medical Center during one eight-hour (8-hr) period. Analysis of samples was performed by EPA TO-15 and ammonia extraction method in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Sample results indicated no negative impact to indoor air quality at the VA Medical Center related to urine odors detected previously.
