Primary Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s primary duty will be to act as primary investigator for IAQ and microbiological investigations, serving as a field industrial hygienist for indoor environmental investigations including assessment of biological agents. The successful candidate will collect non-viable bioaerosol samples in accordance with standard protocols and document sample integrities with chain of custodies; measure common IAQ parameters; prepare field reports (e.g., investigation summaries) summarizing analytical results and generate appropriate documentation in accordance with client-specific requirements. This employee will participate in regular project meetings with corporate staff. Candidate must have experience in designing, conducting, and supervising mold assessments and will support senior-level personnel in the areas of project planning and industrial hygiene, as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Criterion is seeking an individual with an advanced degree, with two to five years of experience required in the IAQ and microbiological assessment field (a CIH is preferred). Comprehension of applicable Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as guidelines and methodologies promulgated from authorities such as the American Industrial Hygiene Association, American Council of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, and the American Society for Testing and Materials is required.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must have knowledge of Windows OS computers and basic software applications required and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. The individual must also have the ability to read and interpret documents, such as environmental regulations and laws, operating and maintenance instructions, and user and procedure manuals, as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively with coworkers and clients. Candidate should have excellent reasoning ability and be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the successful candidate is regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk and hear. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Experience in all the above is desirable but not necessary. Criterion would consider training the right candidate.
