Temple University
Philadelphia, PA
Criterion has served as the Temple University’s environmental consultant since 1997, conducting L&I inspections, asbestos assessments and surveys and performing air sampling and project monitoring during abatement. Criterion was retained by Temple University to investigate the source of absenteeism and worker complaints from employees in the University’s Administrative Building. Microbial contamination of pipe insulation, VOC off-gassing from newly installed carpeting and fungal contamination of ductwork were identified. Recommendations included "bake-out" (elevated temperature and increased ventilation) of rooms with new carpeting, removal of contaminated pipe insulation and cleaning and disinfection of ductwork.
